There is something almost supernatural about lunaria. The translucent seed pods — each one a perfect papery oval — glow like little moons when the light hits them. An entire wreath made of nothing else is either very minimal or very maximalist depending on how you look at it. We are going with maximalist.

Lunaria annua goes by many names. Honesty. Silver Dollar. Money Plant. Moonwort. In the Victorian language of flowers it symbolized honesty, sincerity, and prosperity. In witchcraft tradition it is considered protective — said to keep evil spirits and negative energy at bay. In France they call it Pope’s money. In Denmark, coins of Judas. It has been associated with the moon, femininity, and illumination for centuries.

Or you can hang it on your door because it is the most ethereal thing you have ever seen and leave the folklore for someone else. Either way.

Every pod on this wreath was grown and harvested right here on our urban cut flower farm in Mount Clemens, Michigan. This is a one of a kind piece.
