Lavender Mist Larkspur Seeds (Consolida ajacis 'Misty Lavender')

Add tall, smoky lavender spires and a quietly sophisticated vintage charm to your cutting garden with Petal & Twig's Lavender Mist Larkspur seeds. Organically grown and hand-harvested in small batches, these seeds are carefully selected and germination-tested. Sometimes compared to the heirloom variety known as Earl Grey — which tells you everything about its vibe.

Why Our Seeds?

  • Organically Grown & Hand-Harvested: High-quality seeds, naturally cultivated
  • Germination-Tested: Trusted to grow strong, productive plants
  • Florist Favorite: A beloved cool season cut flower equally stunning fresh or dried

Blooms & Form
Lavender Mist Larkspur produces tall upright spires of dense double blooms in a dreamy shade of pearly gray-lavender with a soft smoky quality that is nearly impossible to describe and completely impossible to forget. Plants reach 36 to 48 inches tall and make a stunning vertical element in bouquets. Beautiful fresh with a vase life of 7 to 10 days and equally gorgeous dried for wreaths and arrangements.

How to Grow

  1. When to Plant: Direct sow in early spring 3 to 4 weeks before last frost while soil is still cool. Larkspur needs cool soil temperatures to germinate — seeds do not germinate well when soil exceeds 55 degrees. Can also be sown in fall for early spring blooms.
  2. Where to Plant: Full sun, well-draining fertile soil. Larkspur thrives in cool conditions and may slow down in peak summer heat.
  3. Planting Tips: Sow seeds directly and cover with about 1/4 inch of soil — darkness is required for germination. Germination in 14 to 28 days. Do not transplant if possible as larkspur dislikes root disturbance.
  4. Spacing: Thin seedlings to 6 to 9 inches apart once plants reach 5 inches tall.
  5. Care Tips: Harvest when the first 2 to 3 flowers at the base of the stem are open for the longest vase life. Leave a few stems to self sow and you will be rewarded with volunteers the following season.

Warning: All parts of this plant including the seeds are toxic if ingested. Keep away from children and pets.
