Blooms & Form
Green Hanging Amaranth produces long draping tassels in a fresh chartreuse-green that adds incredible texture and movement to bouquets and arrangements. The tassels hang gracefully from well-branched plants that reach 36 to 60 inches tall. Works beautifully in both fresh and dried arrangements and pairs with virtually any color palette.
How to Grow
- When to Plant: Start indoors 6 to 8 weeks before last frost and transplant out after all danger of frost has passed. Can also be direct sown once soil has warmed.
- Where to Plant: Full sun, well-draining soil. Loves heat and thrives with consistent moisture.
- Planting Tips: Sow seeds on or just barely below the surface of finely worked soil. Germination in 10 to 14 days at warm temperatures.
- Spacing: Thin to 12 to 18 inches apart. Plants reach 36 to 60 inches tall.
- Care Tips: Pinch when 12 inches tall to encourage branching. Harvest when tassels are elongated and fully formed. Remove foliage to let the cascading green tassels take center stage.
