- Germination-Tested: Trusted to grow strong, productive plants
- Florist Favorite: A dramatic trailing variety beloved in professional cutting gardens
Blooms & Form
Coral Fountain produces long, rope-like cascading tassels in a dusty coral pink that resembles sun-faded velvet. Tassels can reach up to 18 inches in length and trail dramatically from plants that grow 36 to 60 inches tall. Stunning in large-scale fresh arrangements and equally beautiful dried. Vase life of 7 to 10 days fresh.
How to Grow
- When to Plant: Start indoors 4 to 6 weeks before last frost and transplant out after all danger of frost has passed. Can also be direct sown once soil has warmed.
- Where to Plant: Full sun, well-draining soil. Amaranth loves heat — the warmer the better.
- Planting Tips: Sow seeds on the surface of finely worked soil. Do not bury — seeds need light to germinate. Germination in 2 to 14 days.
- Spacing: 12 inches apart. Plants reach 36 to 60 inches tall.
- Care Tips: Pinch when 12 inches tall to encourage branching and more tassels. Harvest when tassels begin to elongate and remove most of the foliage so the colorful ropes are fully visible.
